Black 5 44871 seen at Avoncliff with the Bath and Bristol Christmas Market excursion from Poole. The train was running over an hour late due to slipping to a halt on Branksome Bank shortly into it's journey. I noted 8 rail enthusiasts on and around the platforms to observe this working, that's about how many passengers board a train here on an average day - 28/11/13
Running an hour late 60163 Tornado storms through Styles Hill on the Frome avoiding line with the Cathedrals Express - 23/03/13

Recently repainted 60163 Tornado steams (or lack of it) past the moth-balled Westbury cement works on approach to Heywood road junction with the Cathedrals Express. At some point during the trip up the B&H a pheasant was acquired to adorn the front of the engine - 29/11/12
35028 Clan Line or as she's known in my house - Gloom Line, does this engine ever run in sunshine?? I have seen her on 5 occasions and this is the best record I've got. Maybe it carries it's own small weather system around. Seen in predictably poor conditions at Edington approaching Westbury with 1Z91 VSOE excursion from London Victoria to Bristol, 67005 was bringing up the rear - 24/10/12
34067 Tangmere passes Bratton near Westbury with the Railway Touring Company's Mayflower excursion from Euston to Plymouth. Quite evocative of yesteryear I find - 15/09/12
34067 Tangmere passes Winfrith with the Railway Touring Company's Dorset Coast Express. What a great spot, as usual I found myself not alone - 13/09/12
BR Pacific 70000 Britannia storms (albeit with no significant evidence of steam) through Norton Bavant near Warminster with the returning Bath Spa Express. My first location choice in order to ensure some hard working steam was the climb out of Old Dilton up through Upton Scudamore but with 2 hours to go some fellow already had his step ladder set up in the field in question - I guess the early bird gets the steam! More than happy with this, my second choice location though - 05/09/12
34067 Tangmere pulls away from Blatchbridge junction after a stop at Frome with the Weymouth Seaside Express - 26/08/12
34067 Tangmere brings the last Weymouth Seaside Express of the year through Berkley near Frome. My original intention was to try a shot from the field (to the right of this image) but as usual even with 40 minutes to go there was a crowd scene there so I tried my hand off the Pot lane bridge on the "dark side" - pretty pleased, think I pulled it off - 26/08/12
34067 Tangmere at Frome north junction on approach to frome station for the final stop to collect passengers on The Railway Touring Co's Weymouth Seaside Express - 19/08/12
5029 Nunney Castle passes Bunns lane near Frome with the Weymouth Seaside Express - 14/08/11. At this point the locomotive is as close to it's namesake - Nunney's 14th century castle - as is possible to get on the rails (approx 3 miles)
5029 Nunney Castle slows on approach to Hawkeridge junction before it's Westbury stop with The Railway Touring Company's Weymouth Seaside express - 07/08/11
Can't get enough Tangmere, here 34067 crosses Blatchbridge junction Frome with
